Welcome to the Art/Re-search (T)here Card Game: Entangled Play
This interactive card game emerged from Art/Re/search (T)here (Cloutier, Rowe, Flagel, Lorenzi, Jansen, Crocker & Clare, 2025), a SSHRC-funded transdisciplinary project that re-imagines how art, research, and relationality can move together. Grounded in (post)humanist thinking (Barad, 2007) and the generative act of getting lost (Lather, 2007), this game invites you to wander, wonder, and re/search in the company of seven co-conspirators who explored transdisciplinary inquiry through artmaking, dialogue, and experimentation.
The game was sparked by co-conspirator Adam Clare, a game design professor who asked: what if our art/re-search space glitched into a game as it reimagined how to exhibit and share work? What emerged was a collaborative experience designed to foster immersion, connection, and liminal play. Each card offers a quote, prompt, or code from our shared inquiry, designed to activate new insights and invite entangled interactions with the virtual assemblage.
Played within and beyond the website, the game becomes a living archive—an unfolding, non-linear map of belonging and un/knowing in pedagogical fields shaped by virtual material discursive flows and art/re-search (t)here. We invite you to play, reflect, and reimagine what it means to do research together.
